Supporting Work‑Injury Recovery at Fonthill Chiropractic
At Fonthill Chiropractic & Wellness, we understand that a work‑related injury isn’t just about one event. It’s about getting back to your life, your work, your everyday routines. That’s why we’ve structured our care to help Ontario workers covered by WSIB get the right treatment, the right documentation, and the right return‑to‑work support.
What does WSIB cover, and how we help
When you’re injured on the job, the WSIB is there to cover the cost of necessary, appropriate and sufficient care. Here’s how the process works — and how we guide you through it:
Early access to evidence‑based treatment. For many musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries such as sprains, strains, non‑surgical fractures, joint/tendon injuries. The WSIB’s “Musculoskeletal Program of Care” (MSK POC) is the first line of treatment. It’s an 8‑week program (two 4‑week blocks) delivered by regulated health professionals.
Paperwork and billing handled. We help you fill out and organise the required forms (such as the Health Professional’s Report – Form 8 and the Functional Abilities Form) and coordinate billing to WSIB via the TELUS Health portal, so you don’t pay for approved services.
Return‑to‑work focus. We don’t just treat the injury; we look at how you can get back to your job safely, with functional ability and ongoing support. The WSIB places emphasis on safe, timely, sustainable return to work.
What to expect if you’re coming here under a WSIB claim
Contact us as soon as possible. The sooner treatment begins (ideally within eight weeks of injury for the MSK POC), the better your recovery overall.
Bring your claim details. If your employer has reported the injury and you have a WSIB claim number (or are in the process of submitting one), let us know.
First visit: assessment and documentation.
We perform a full movement/physical exam, match your injury to function at work and daily life.
We help complete the Health Professional’s Report (Form 8) if needed.
We begin a tailored care plan with the goal of safe return‑to‑work.
Ongoing therapy within the program. The MSK POC is structured in two four‑week blocks, and we track progress, adjust the plan, and report to WSIB (our job so you can focus on recovery).
Return‑to‑work planning and functional abilities. When you’re nearing readiness to resume work (even on modified duties), we can complete the Functional Abilities Form (FAF) and coordinate with your employer about job adjustments.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral from my doctor to see you?
No — for many MSK injuries under the MSK POC, a chiropractor is a primary provider and can assess and treat you directly.
What if my claim is still “pending” (not yet approved)?
If you have a single‑zone musculoskeletal injury (e.g., one limb or one area) you can begin block one of the MSK POC even while the claim is pending.
Will I have to pay?
For approved WSIB claims and associated treatment, you should not have to pay for the care covered under the benefit.
Is the goal just treating pain, or returning to work?
The focus is on functional recovery i.e., getting you back to safe work and activity. The MSK POC emphasises return‑to‑work planning as part of the treatment.
